InterContinental - Ljubljana, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is so nice! The room was magnificent. Super spacious and comfortable. Lots of room for storage, the bathroom was huge with a separate toilet and shower area, the shower was heavenly! The bed was super comfy and I loved the lighting in this hotel. There are touches of lighting added everywhere, like under the sink cabinet in the bathroom, which lends an air of class and sophistication. I also love the modern lights you press as the do not disturb, or please make up my room. Really nice towels, body lotion, shower gel, etc. The desk was great too, a proper workspace. Breakfast was tasty with a lot of choices and the staff went above and beyond to be helpful and kind. Great location, not a terribly far walk to the center, with a super market not far away. This city is so beautiful and is a pleasure to visit. I should add that I ordered room service and also had dinner in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service first class. The staff is just wonderful.

For me, the most important aspects are below where the hotel exceeded the global averages. Please note I travel a lot for work so I live in a hotel on an average 2 nights a week. 1. Location - Cannot get better for a city trip 2. Room Size - I booked a deluxe king room and it amazing. Layout, size, comfort, corner L shape 3. Cleanliness & Bathroom - Again, 10/10 Staff - It might not be high on people's agenda but friendly and warm staff are my biggest differentiator with respect to a hotel experience. This hotel absolutely excelled in this category bringing back the warmth of the old true respect to Hospitality. To everyone at the hotel, thank you very much.

We travel quite a lot and it is always a pleasure to see that hotels in this category are just that little bit more than others places where we have stayed in the past. The hotel is located at walking distance from the heart of the city and very close to the train station. We had rooms on the 10th floor with a beautiful view on the outside of the city and the mountains. Apart from the location, I was really impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff which, IMHO, can make or break your stay as a guest. It’s the people who make the difference! You absolutely did it! 🤝 Having diner in the restaurant on the 20th floor confirmed again that their is a difference between a hotel and a Hotel with H. The food was no-nonsense but amazing in every detail. And so were the wines. I almost felt embarrassed that I never tried Slovenian wines at home 🤦‍♂️. I would like to give special attention to Nikola (sorry if I misspelled …) who give us very good advice on food and wines in the restaurant and gave us one of the best dining experiences ever. So, if you are looking for a very good 5* hotel in Ljubljana with next-level service, Intercontinental is your choice. 🤝

Everything was wonderful about this hotel. Worth every penny! The Staff was very friendly and the room clean and comfortable. The bathroom equipped with a bath and shower are particularly impressive. The location is great. Easy walk to the city center. The Michelin restaurant on the 20th offers a magnificent view of Ljubljana and delicious food. The valet parking was also very convenient.
